Learning Through Others (EDS 103 #6)

I have always wondered why our professor would say, “learn through others,” when we all independently study in our homes. Little did I know that aside from learning based on what my other classmates have to say and share, I’d be able to learn (simple as they may be) from everybody else and almost everything. All it takes is a bit of attention, curiosity, and consciousness about the world around us.

Doing this exercise took me on a journey back to those years of innocence, about life, about the world, and work. Looking back, I realized that several people influenced my life and helped me become what I am now – though the “I” still needs some more tweaking and development.

Inspired by these people whom I considered to be my models, or mentors, or both, this is how I want to be when given a chance to become a model or mentor for others.

How to do it, I still have to find out. Maybe by working on these things one day at a time and doing a little act of kindness each time, the day will come when I look back into this journal and tell myself, “So this is what these words truly mean.”
